Do you know who domob and I are? Both he and I are major developers of Namecoin projects; it's laughable that you would claim that we are a "peanut gallery" who "do very little work" on Namecoin. domob and I have both been working on potential methods of funding lite client development. We have both done much more for Namecoin than you have to my knowledge.

namecoind and namecoin-qt already run on multiple operating systems.

If you decide not to release your code as open-source, you should refund everyone who donated.

Nobody will use a closed source client.

I think it would be great if you would get multibit working with namecoin!

Even if it is "just" the currency aspects. Someone else can easily build ontop from there to get the other features working.

Now I had a quick look to see what would be needed to make this happen and I found this post:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... gJtXFhQn2o

Looks like it would be handy to just look at the diff's of the litecoinj project:
https://code.google.com/p/litecoinj/

I imagine from there, its not terribly hard to get multibit working... Good luck!

Well, if domob and you happened to be the major developers of Namecoin, then you certainly are doing a piss poor job at promoting new project development.

I am requesting funding for this new project however you take every opportunity to shoot it down.

Yeah, just stellar leadership. BTW, when will you upgrade that old namecoind to the latest leveldb stuff?

Thanks for the encouragement.

Unlike litecoin, namecoin has merged mined stuff it its block chain so there is a little bit more complexity.

The major difficulty will be the multibit stuff because it seems to have this file that stores the initial block chain that I can't figure out the format.

I am sure people who have invested millions of dollars on namecoin would be interested in a wallet.

Anyway, I am still soliciting donations. Let's see how that turns out, meanwhile I've already started development.

If the namecoin devs want to live in some ivory tower, so be it.

I however believe (like many NMC investors) that namecoin should focus on its currency aspects and exploit the naming system to support innovative financial transactions. If you agree with this, then please make your voice heard.

You are probably aware that there is already a java gui for namecoin, albeit stagnant project ... there may be some stuff in there you can use e.g. ...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/namecoinj/

http://dot-bit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=379

P.S ... and enough with the 'peanut gallery' pissing contest stuff, we're all here for the same reason, no?

NamecoinJ interfaces to namecoind ... which is different from MultiBit that is pure java.

Futhermore, namecoind is not a SPV client.

It's good that you are working on namecoin based projects.
but you need a better attitude.. (as does everyone).

also anything you make, really needs to be vetted and tested by everyone on this forum (and beyond), or it's unlikely to ever be official, which means it will be hard to be accepted (maybe) - should be opensource?

I think if frictionlesscoin does it, then it will be a +1 for namecoin anyway, even without names.

You have had nearly 150 NMC donated to you for this which is around $750 at current rates.

I understand it is a lot of work but if it is closed source I don't think it will benefit the community.
