[NMDF][closed] New Block Explorer - Bounty: 30NMC

Snailbrain is putting a lot of effort into a new Abe based Namecoin block explorer. To give him some compensation NMDF offers a bounty.

* It should be possible to search for names
* Must be open source preferably on github. Relevant server config files would be nice, too.

tbh, i think for someone that knows what they are doing, it should take 5 minutes.
i can probably get it working without names, -- with names, i'll probably need to find someone to help (will see).

but thanks for the offer, will try harder now

p.s. if someone wants to do it first or does it before me, they are MORE than welcome. Will try "in time" to do it, busy this week atm :/

what do you mean?

if it's in the chain, is it not current block height minus the block the transaction went in?

I will probably not be modifying any of the code, as this will cost me, but we will see
I probably won't be able to fulfil the bounty tbh

but at least we can have "A" block explorer

Well, I don know the insights about how confirmations work, I'll have to find some time to read the documentation, but what I know is that when I transfer some BTC or LTC the explorer shows the confirmations and is very useful for tracking when the funds will arrive to an exchange (they require X confirmations).
Another important think in my opinion would be to have a fresh design of the explorer site, maybe if we throw the bounty in bitcointalk we will find the support you need!

This explorer is from datacoin, interesting one with some similitudes with namecoin. What do you think about it? Maybe the developer could give a hand for Namecoin explorer, datacoin also manages data inside blocks and could extract domains info to show.

Datacoin. Interesting idea. 500 GB/year blockchain size.
Only a step away from my lifecoin with the uploaded mind in a blockchain.
If it will work it would be an idea to outsource amounts of bulk data there.
But their blockexplorer looks OK.

I think Khals blockexplorer would work again if he deletes nameindex.dat, then it would be reindexed correctly.
by me was the same, got stuck on block 150 003 the old blockchain, and deleting nameindex.dat worked.

I won't fulfil the bounty.. John the creator of ABE did most of the work, i have put it on a digitalocean droplet.

I sent him 10NMC for his work. If we need to add names in the future, we can ask him for some more help

If anyone else wants to fulfil the bounty and host another block explorer, i think that would be good for Namecoin.

i believe the "files" are just what is on the github, i'm pretty sure there is no modifications (bar changing paths as per instructions).

you can add any .bit name to it if you like?
