Yes, there will be a major rush of miners on NMC now. It's actually been more profitable to mine NMC than BTC for a couple of weeks, but many were unwilling/too stubborn to move, and of course not many knew about NMC. That's changing rapidly.

One upside to this (people who use NMC for domain registration, etc), the price of NMC will drop rapidly. Demand will not be there to fill the sell orders. Very good for the true purpose of NMC :)

So, if you want the price to get to a sensible level, advertise NMC mining :) It hardly comes up on the Bitcoin site, and I have been mentioning it quite a lot, even though I was doing nicely with an income from mining.

I've now moved on to pretty much purely speculating. Takes longer to get a return, but the returns are higher :)

LOL, love it. That's one very short lived NMC mining career for those jumping from BTC. Definitely won't be more profitable than mining BTC, LOL

Actually, strike that... considering the BTC difficulty increase, that puts an end to a decent level of profitable mining...

NMC mining will definitely be over for those in this for profit, LOLOL ... I shouldn't laugh, bad me

Speculation will be the way to go for anyone who wants to make money at this.

Come join me at the NMC/BTC BTC/USD forex game.... it's fun :)

I've updated the script to take into account the difficulty increase limit. Difficulty can't increase or decrease by more than x4.

It means that, with a next difficulty of x4 max and an instant difficulty of x7, next difficulty will be x4 and then, just after the difficulty change, it will already be at 7/4 = x1.75, without any new miner...

You need at least a third currency pair (NMC/USD), or some other currency, then it will became really fun :)

Yeah, definitely. I thought I read somewhere about a proposed trading site that will allow NMC/USD trading, in the same way that BTC is traded for USD on trading sites like MT Gox.

There's absolutely no reason why someone couldn't set that up. Just imagine the level of trading that would go on !

My only concern with setting it up is "would anyone trust me?" :D

What I want to know is why is there such a huge delay in your graph to real time prices? when the price crashed to $10/BTC your graph took a long, long time to reflect it..
