I want to announce my plans about building a webinterface for a dedicated Ubuntu server running namecoin and offering services like .bit name resolution. It is not yet started and I hope to get some ideas and feedback before starting. If someone is willing to help he'll be more than welcome. The current status of the project ist: "planning!" However the idea of a dedicated Bifröst Box stuffed with all kind of privacy enhanced goodies is on my mind for quite a while.

IMHO such a webinterface with additional services is the best choice for people who want to just "use" namecoin. Because it is possible to integrate the name resolution in a convenient way having a real bind. Furthermore we can easily add for example Jabber and E-Mail services for the .bit domains with a few clicks in a webinterface merging decentralization of .bit with those of other privacy enabled services. I know this is not a small project. But I think this is the best possibility to have people use .bit. I'm really curious for your feedback.
