@indolering, I'm pretty strongly against re-inventing another GUI. I think we should use an existing GUI if at all possible. Also, a web-browser-based GUI has immense attack surface compared to something like Armory.
I meant using an extended Electrum GUI as a local frontend for libcoin-namecoin.

I'd lean toward using a Bitcoin GUI as the base (e.g. Armory) because that way we don't have to maintain everything ourselves.

You can supposedly build Bitcoind using Libcoin.
DNS is much more than a key->value datastore.
