We've been wanting to make NMControl blockchain neutral for some time. We need a new name that isn't Namecoin specific. I started a reddit thread asking for suggestions, feel free to post suggestions here as well.
Keep in mind that NMControl is generic middleware with a plugin architecture. So it can act as a DNS server, it provides a REST and JSON-RPC interface, and the proxy that handles TLS validation will be a NMControl plugin.
I don't intend this to be a binding vote, I'm just looking for suggestions : )

Renaming NMControl
DNS is much more than a key->value datastore.

Re: Renaming NMControl
I am fine with NameControl if that's the consensus. However, note that it could be confused with the Coin Control functionality applied to name coins.
Given that I often describe NMControl as a Swiss army knife for Namecoin-related functionality, maybe the name could involve the word "Swiss" in some way? Just a thought.

Reminds me of Perl, once nicknamed the Swiss-Army Chainsaw,
