I was thinking of setting up a working group to harmonize record specifications between Namecoin and BitShares. BitShares largely just copied our spec originally but had some minor changes. I thought that we could work together.
I was envisioning something fairly basic, a GitHub organization with an RFC repo and a mailing list. I'm planning on spending some time upgrading NMControl so I will be in a position to implement proposed changes.
I haven't brought this up with the BitShares community as I wanted to run it past everyone here first.

Re: Name Specification Working Group
So, I got a bunch of ACK's from core devs privately and I setup the working group: Internet Freedom Alliance.
After I make the pitch to the BitShares community I will basically start working on setting up a RFC standards system guided by the Namecoin Enhancement Proposal thread.
