If you come from a version older than 0.3.75 please follow the 0.3.75 release notes. Be safe and make an encrypted backup of your wallet.dat file.

A "Mavericks" Medal of Honor goes to Cassini for the first official Mac release.

How much trouble is it to make it compatible with 10.8?

Actually, I was considering a 10.8 version for all the pre-2010 Mac hardware, but at the moment there are a few more important things to do. Upgrading the compile-yourself wiki and getting ready for 10.10 are only two of them.
There is an unofficial Namecoin-Qt 0.3.75 for 10.7/10.8 created by maxpower, though. See

Some people have done a few tests (including me), see

Awesome, thanks!

However, just like your version, I am unable to open it. I thought it was merely a version compatibility issue but it appears to be something more.

Regarding time as a resource, I understand. I would love to help with the instructions for the C-Y wiki in any way that I can.

Spencer!

Running Yosemite and the Official 0.3.76 version doesn't work for me. It immediately crashes upon startup and doesn't even get to the Logo stage.

The Unofficial 0.3.75 version posted earlier compiled by Maxpower does work for me though.

I also have Homebrew and various dev utilities installed so wondering if that could be causing incompatibilities.

by right clicking the icon I can bring up the splash screen logo but it's stalled

The blockchain is being downloaded in the background it seems from debug.log

Note the window was there after a couple of hours and now things seem to work fine. (debug info --> cassini)

Cassini - The forum won't let me respond to your PM... do you have another way I can send you info?
I've got the crash-log from Yosemite that I can send via gist.
It didn't even get to the point where a debug.log was created with 0.3.76.
And Yes, I do have Xcode installed.

Unfortunately, mine immediately crashes so no logo, no nothing. :(
