Windows: bitcoin server starting...

Post by Synaptic »

I configured everything according to the guide, but when I start namecoind.exe I get "bitcoin server starting" indefinitely.

I'm currently mining bitcoins as well if that helps diagnose the issue but they ARE configured for different ports.

I get no error messages, just "bitcoin server starting" in perpetuum.

Any advice?

I used "namecoin.exe"

My config looks like:

rpcuser=Synaptic
rpcpassword=*******
rpcport=8336
daemon=1

BTW, do I have to create my username and password somewhere, or just whatever I put in the config file? That was never explained anywhere.

You can put what you want for your login and pass. Before changing them, don't forget to stop namecoin : namecoind.exe stop.

after a "namecoind.exe", what is displayed if you type "namecoind.exe getinfo" ? (you will eventually need to do it on a secondary terminal)
