I downloaded the latest BTC electrum and it works fine along with all other electrum versions I have running so I thought it had to be specifically related to namecoin because its the only electrum version I can't get to connect.Anyway I will keep trying it each day and hope it gets a connection so I can buy and sell a few coins.

I want to try all the earlier versions including the early beta version from the links below but when you download the files I don't know how to launch/install the client because there is no shortcut or installation/setup feature similiar to how you install latest client from namecoin website?

If you look at the history of the https://github.com/namecoin/namecoin.org repo, you should be able to find the links to the Windows binaries of the previous releases. Probably we should add an "Old Versions" page to the site; this has been on my radar for a while but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
