Namecoin Linux download option inaccessible

The download option for the various Linux versions does not seem to be working at "http://namecoin.info/?p=download". I'm using a Trisquel 6.0.1 with Abrowser 36.0, and have NoScript set to allow "namecoin.info" and "opensuse.org", but nothing happens when I click on any of the Linux OS icons. Am I doing something incorrectly?

It's not just you. It appears to be broken on Opensuse's end.

Assuming that you are using the latest version of Trisquel and assuming that the entire OBS infrastructure isn't broken, you should be able to add the repository using the following:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... ntu_14.04/

So you should be able to add the following line to your sources.list and then install the namecoin package:

deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... ntu_14.04/ /

You can also go to the URL in your web browser and download the appropriate package directly, but adding the repository will allow you to update the Namecoin client easier.

Thanks for the suggestions. At present I can't use the most recent version of Trisquel due to some graphics issues, but perhaps I can upgrade to the latest Namecoin version manually.

So, if you aren't using the latest Trisquel, then you are using a version based on Ubuntu 12.04 or earlier. So I doubt the binaries are going to work. If you know how to do so, then your best bet would be to try compiling from source.

Things still don't work on the namecoin.org download page but they do here:

https://software.opensuse.org/download. ... e=namecoin

PMC thinks it is becaues of some javascript being included via a non https link.

It appears that the Debian and Ubuntu options for Namecoin-qt have since been removed entirely. Will they resurface again, for those of us who aren't comfortable with the command line and/or building from source?

This is misleading. The namecoind packages for Debian/Ubuntu also contain the QT client.

Pull requests welcome for making this more clear on the website.

I have split the package into two:

* namecoin contains the daemon
* namecoin-gui contains the QT wallet

I've also added Debian-8 and Ubuntu-15.04 builds. (@josephbisch: thanks for the notification!)
