namecoind bind to IP

Post by Mellnik »

Does anyone know the directive for namecoin.conf to bind to a specific IP-Address?

I've tried

Code: Select all

bind=1.1.1.1:8334
but it does not work, lsof -i -n shows *:8334.

Furthermore does namecoind support IPv6 yet?

Are you looking for "connect" ?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin
nx.bit - some namecoin stats
nf.bit - shortcut to this forum

No, I'm looking for

to listen on specific address. But as I said in the thread, it does not work.

I already run bitcoin and litecoin nodes on my dedicated server but namecoin has some weird extra errors.

You can try Namecoin Core (https://github.com/namecoin/namecore), which is based on the latest Bitcoin code. I don't know how to do what you want in Bitcoin, either, but I guess it is possible there.

You never run a node I guess. I have 30 IPs on my server, do you think I want namecoind to listen on ALL of those IPs lol.

You guess wrong, I did run a 24/7 public Bitcoin node for a long time (and still run one that is not always on) and I run two Namecoin nodes publicly. I just don't have servers with 30 IPs.
