Windows v0.3.75 not syncing (to the point version)

Things work like a charm for me and seemingly a lot of other people, too, so please

help us solve this issue / potential bug:
Did you guys start from scratch or did you have a previous Namecoin version installed?

Do you happen to use a wallet with a lot of names / transactions in it?

I assume you are aware that the initial sync can easily take four hours or longer and depends on a lot of factors like the performance of your peers systems and their network connection. Did you let it run for a long time like that? How many bars does the connection quality icon in the lower right of the window show? (If you hover above it it will show you the number of connections).

What version of windows do you use?

Please post here or send me by pm the files debug.log and db.log from %appdata%/Namecoin (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming on recent windows versions, "cd %appdata%" from the command line).

To solve the problem for you:
Retry downloading from start: Shut down the Namecoin client, go to the %APPDATA% folder and rename the Namecoin folder. Then restart the Namecoin client and let it run for at least four hours or until it is up to date. You can then rename the wallet.dat file in the new folder and copy the wallet.dat file from the old folder to the new folder.

If you could keep a copy of the Namecoin folder that shows the error until we have this resolved it might be helpful.

My install was an upgrade on windows 7. Stuck at block 182893. Wallet has one trans action.

probably i would try these in order (1 at a time):

1. Restart client, try again?
2. Start client with -rescan ?
3. Rename wallet.dat.. start client?
3. Delete nameindexfull.dat . start client, may take a while.. ?
4. delete all in the datadir (backup wallet).. sync with new wallet so is faster.. once synced, copy old wallet back.

if you don't know how to do any of that, then let us know.

As another data point, I was able to get fully synced with a clean installation on windows 7.

Could you send us the debug.log and db.log files?

They should be located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming

Ok after trying everything here is the only Fix that worked! I am also running windows 7 professional so something tells me it has to do with windows 7..

Fully uninstall the namecoin.qt file.
Go into AppData > Roaming
Remove the Namecoin Folder to desktop or Change name of folder.
Reinstall the new version of Namecoin_v0.3.75_setup
Wait and let the new wallet fully Sync with the network( Could take a couple hours or so)
Once the wallet is fully Synced close your namecoin wallet, copy and paste your wallet.dat file from the old Namecoin folder that you moved to the desk top or changed the name of into the new Namecoin folder that will appear in the AppData >Roaming
Reopen your Namecoin wallet and it should be synced, updated and have your old NMC balance ready to go.
