Deleting non-finished transactions from the Windows Wallet

Post by MWD » Sat Feb 22, 2014 12:30 am

Howdy,

I think this was covered here for the command line version, but I'm not sure about the GUI Windows wallet.

A friend was away from his computer and asked me to register two .bit domain names for him. I didn't get the message until later. I went to register them for him, apparently seconds after he was successfully registering them himself.

He got them domains as needed, but I still have the two pending transactions at the top of my wallet re-trying every time I open it. Is there and easy way to delete this two minor annoyances from my life forever?

Thank you!

This happened to me also but by Bitcoin.
They are two solutions to get back the stucked coins:
- reload a backup of the wallet which is previous to the transaction(if you have) and continue with it or transfer the coins to another address
- extract the private key of the stucked coins(the from address private key) and import it to another wallet and you can keep there or transfer them

Wasn't there a command "deletetransaction" in the non-GUI wallet? Is there a way to do that in the GUI wallet?

I don't think that would be a good idea to implement such a command in Bitcoin or Namecoin if you mean to make a done and confirmed transaction un-happened this is not possible because the network was'nt designed for this
If you mean to remove - just not to show an existing transaction that wouldn't be helpful ether especially if you create a greater inconsistency by improper use between the wallet and the network

There is a deletetransaction RPC command indeed but best is if you backup the wallet before making any experiments with it.(if you still have coins in it)

You can study the topics on this subject and become an expert in it :) :
