I am having trouble using this in Debian Wheezy running Iceweasel (firefox). I followed your tutorial for linux, and after about five hours of waiting I tried your entire list of working .bit websites. After I click a website, I am given the following message:

The connection was reset.

And:

Namecoin Resolution Error: No resolvable address was found for the requested domain feens.bit

Also, in the the "status" tab in preferences:

namecoind not responding, try again in a couple minutes.

The following linux command shows me what ports are open, and the service running on it:

lsof -i tcp

Probably not what you were asking for, but I run Iceweasel on Debian Wheezy with Convergence for Namecoin (an older version of what now is called FreeSpeechMe) without problems. I use a separate Namecoin instance, though, not the bundled ones. I can not tell you whether or not they work in Debian, but if you can't fix the problems, you can think about using the standalone versions instead.

Sorry for delayed reply. Do you currently have any other Namecoin-related software running? (E.g. Namecoin-Qt.) Other Namecoin software should be closed before using Firefox with FreeSpeechMe to prevent port conflicts. This will be fixed in a future release (hopefully soon).
