renewing expiring domains - thanks to pitbull

Post by virtual_master »

Thanks to pitbull reminding me about namecoinia.bit expiring
Because of the growing hashrate domains are expiring earlier than expected.
The halving will come also earlier.

Sorry for you...! Yes, the hashrate is really fast at the moment. Fortunately, I regularly list all my names and renew whenever names fall below 10,000 blocks usually. This seems like a good strategy, considering your losses.

Sorry. I also lost so about hundred .bit domains.
Now we will have two snailbrains. But we know you are the real one.
When I registered on this forum with virtualmaster, accidentally mistyped the email address and so I couldn't confirm it. It was also not possible to register again with the same user-name and the correct email. Then I registered with virtual_master.

We will need to update the registration/renewal process of the names to be able to register for a longer period.
Length based:
- 20 char and longer - forever at no extra cost (at least for IDs, bonds, shares) - for IDs and shares/bonds would be very good
- up to 9 character long - should remain as now to have a better name recycling for short names - OR- extensible for longer period by exponential increasing fee
- 10-19 char long - renewable for indefinite time but as long as payed - linear(proportional) fee increase
