Getting started with namecoins

Post by shywolf91 » Sat Jul 07, 2012 5:13 am

I am currently using GUIMineer and BTCguild.

How do you get started mining for namecoins? and what is a .bit address? Do you need one?

Where is the namecoin wallet?

Please tell me how I can get started.

Thank-you.

you can get a namecoin address at https://exchange.bitparking.com or https://btc-e.com/ if you only want to mine namecoins that would be sufficient. you can also create receiving addresses with the namecoin client.

you can use your namecoins to register .bit domains with the namecoin client. look at http://dot-bit.org/How_To_Browse_Bit_Domains on how to browse these domains.
nx.bit - some namecoin stats
nf.bit - shortcut to this forum
