I recently saw a draft that seems it might lead to a Balkanization of the Internet https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-diao-aip-dns-00

I see no draft from namecoin developers seeking some soft of endorsement of namecoin-like DNS. Why not?

Seek endorsement from whom exactly? ... a truly distributed decentralsed system needs no endorsement from any kind of "authority", other than the users ... besides who wants to spend time on a draft when you have already working system?

Perhaps seeing as you are now well enough informed on namecoin to propose such questions you could contribute to the documentation? ... as built docs, not drafts or proposals that are seeking some kind of approval.
