P2P Fiat Exchange with Reputation System

Post by domob »

Might be interesting: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d3E ... pc4r2eii0m

This is (yet another) whitepaper for a P2P fiat exchange, which also includes reputation and (optionally, like OT) allows to associate identities with Namecoin "readable names". Maybe we can use some of those ideas to build a Namecoin ID reputation and WoT system?

Yeah. Good idea. I will look in detail but there is a lot to think about.
I will post here some RetroShare related projects which are connected to 'distributed exchange' 'distributed voting', and 'decentralized identities'. This could be eventually used as combining ideas as they are all Open Source.

Mesh Democracy
an implementation of "Distributed Liquid Democracy" - a RetroShare based project for distributed voting

ZeroReserve
a RetroShare plugin project for distributed Bitcoin exchange

Retroshare is a Open Source cross-platform, Friend-2-Friend and secure decentralized communication platform(chat, email, file share) which could eventually also use Namecoin IDs for connections.

I'd like to help improve identity verification with a WoT-like system in the blockchain, I've had a few ideas for how to get there.

First allow identities to be associated with .bit domain names & write some logic in clients to enforce referential integrity, start to turn namecoin into a relational database...

Set up group/organisation identities that can contain multiple namecoin personal identities (with different levels of authority in the organisation) & register .bit domains.

Then add the ability for any person or organisation to verify (or unverify) any individual piece of id information for any other person or organisation & store that verification in the blockchain.

Vote weighting could be implemented in clients to give individual trust metrics that are more resistant to Sybil attacks. Transaction fees for creating new identities should be increased too.
