expires_in value

Post by jmonteiro »

Hey,

I just created a domain, and I took a look at the expires_in value. It starts at 12k, right? Does that in 12k blocks this domain will expire and will be available for registration again?

There are 6 blocks generated per hour, so it means that it should take 12k / 6 = 2000 hours = 83 days ~= 12 weeks ~= 3 months to expire?

Thanks!

Indeed.
And this value is set back to 12'000 with each update (cost : 0.01NC).

If you let it go to 0, then you'll need to register again.
