I notice that the 2.0 spec supports TLS. Is there any working implementation of this feature which works on Windows? I see that nmcsocks started implementing this, but as far as I can tell the work was never finished. I think TLS without relying on CA's would be a great selling point of .bit, so I'm hoping that something either already exists which I've overlooked, or that something is being developed.
Thanks.

nmcsocks has a first support of the TLS feature.
But, the software is not maintained anymore by its creator (it is written in nodejs)

Re: Is there a working implementation of the TLS feature?
Thanks for the reply. I really like nmcsocks, and I think it's unfortunate that it is no longer being maintained. If I were to offer a small BTC bounty (say between 0.5BTC and 2.0BTC) for continued nmcsocks development (I'm not saying that I'll do this, but I'm seriously considering it), do you think anyone might be up for continuing the project?khal wrote:nmcsocks has a first support of the TLS feature.

Did you try the "fingerprint" feature of nmcsocks ? Is it working ?
Here are some infos on it :
https://github.com/itsnotlupus/nmcsocks ... 32218560dc
https://github.com/itsnotlupus/nmcsocks ... 22a4f0ae04
For the bounty, it may work only if you have specific needs (and use bitcoin forums to reach more developers :p).

Re: Is there a working implementation of the TLS feature?
I'm not savvy enough to build the 0.5 code, and there aren't any binaries posted (I use Windows), so I can't test it. From what I gather by looking at the GitHub issues, the code doesn't actually build in its current state. Do you know of anyone who was able to get the latest source code to build?khal wrote:Did you try the "fingerprint" feature of nmcsocks ? Is it working ?

You can also run it without compiling it too : node nmcsocks
What you need is to install nodejs on your computer.
