Here is what I found today (July 22nd) on the namecoin block explorer website. the time stamps seem to be off. Is this a glitch?

Miner insert their own timestamp in the block they generate, which depend on their clock.
The bitcoin network allows "small" variations (30mn if i remember right).

This is more visible when the network hashrate is 5 times the difficulty and a block is found in 2mn.

Khal is correct on this one.

"Network Time" is only a generic reference in the sense that it is the time of the mining rig when the solution was found, which can be off by as many as 2 hours from the previous value.

Thanks that makes sense given the rate at which we were generating blocks.

Yes whenever we get into the area of solving blocks every few minutes, there is bound to be some discrepancy in time amongst mining rigs.

Not sure if there is any disadvantage to this whatsoever, or why we even show the "time" if there is none.
