The FreeSpeechMe plugin makes it a lot easier to browse .bit websites, but it could be improved. Once it's all very easy to use & works well it'll be easier to promote to end users.

There's a .bit for my testnet faucet, http://testap.bit but it just redirects to the .pw domain for now. Once I've set the .bit up properly for that with TLS I'll be making some more websites, but they'll be on ICANN domains too.
Have you looked at MeowBit?

MeowBit, View censorship-resistant Dot-Bit (Namecoin domains) on ANY Browser. NOT a plug-in: http://meowbit.com/
Does it work on Linux and OS X ?
Also, since you didn't bother to look at any of the pages on that site, they are solid tutorials on setting up dot-bit domains that work independent of how you're viewing those domains. They are from the tutorials I wrote for the FreeSpeechMe site, and I expanded on them and improved them for the MeowBit site.

God damn you're a pest, sudoquai.

hey. i donated to freespeechme which went to meowbit so it wasn't totally free! maybe 0.003$/hr but :D

also, i have meowbit running on my mac. its great. it works. i can visit all the .bit sites i never go to. when the day comes that i need to, its right there. waiting, working, and if it needs to be ported to linux/mac whatever, im sure it can be done.

i would've worked with freespeechme too. who cares. get it up and running and spread the love. i tell everyone about meowbit because its the most clear site i think. and its easy. if something else comes along, i'll add that to the list, like oneName.

anyway, keep building and i'll try to support the projects i think really connect people like me (users) with nmc.

Glad you like it.

I still like FreeSpeechMe and still recommend it for Linux users. I just wish it would get updated. And also wish it would be released for Mac. I'm told that would be very easy to do, just outputting the same code on a Mac.

What do you mean you donated to FreeSpeechMe and it went to MeowBit? I raised about $2500 for FreeSpeechMe, I got paid 20% as agreed (like 500 dollars for two months of more than full time work, but I knew that might be the case). No money donated for FSM went to MeowBit. A little bit of radio ad time did, but that was worked out with Jeremy in our hand off.

Jeremy still has the 2000 dollars or so that I raised, as he and I agreed. That's supposed to go to improving FSM and Namecoin, and I do trust that it will.

Mhh - you really like to talk to people like that, Michael? I am not impressed.

As i've told you before your software can be easily forked and improved if it's worth something. But some people told me it has insecure and dirty software design. Your effort is good, but this doesnt give you the right to talk to people like that, Michael.

That's maybe the reason MeowBit Software was removed from Namecoin @ Wikipedia.

It's a shame school failed to educate you, Michael. But i am sure your loud organ has usage at your radio station ;)

From your own thread:
http://www.freedomfeens.com/2014/04/15/ ... el-w-dean/

BTW.:
I am using Archlinux and a lot people are using the unixoid OSX from Apple (i am using it at my company for example - media designer prefer Apple, cant help it).
If you really think you are one of the "80% of the world" - think twice. The most installed operating system worldwide is imho GNU/Linux and derivates (Android).

Windows is okay but they are better alternative (open source) Operating Systems without possible backdoors from NSA and http://freespeechme.org is supporting this direction. Maybe you should help FreeSpeechMe more.

I've been following this feud you and MWD are having in this and some other thread. Why did you bring the fight to this thread too?

I don't like the tone of it, and I don't want this to continue.

Here is some analysis: the basic problem I see, is that you (sudoquai) think you can tell other people what they are supposed to do. Which is crazy.
MWD has done a lot for namecoin, and I would never dare to use such a dismissive tone against him.
I always respect it when people do free work, and I understand that such people will react very sensitive when someone starts bossing them around, or judging their work as if it was payed work.

Maybe you shouldn't tell people who work for free what they should do?

Or they will very soon start to feel like "slaves" or bimbos and lash out. Which is understandable.

The very nature of free or open source work IS that people who invest time in such endaevour want to atleast be their own boss and contribute the way they like!
