I'm not sure I understand the reason for one of the changes so I don't know whether to update the version I use. I worry that getting 50% of the network to update is going to be difficult and the end result is namecoin will effectively stop working.

Why the reason to decrease network fees faster? Was the original reason for their existence wrong? If so, why not get rid of them altogether? A bunch of people mined coins and bought domains based on the original rules. Now they're changing. What's to prevent changes further down the line that destabilizes peoples trust in the network?

Small update with following commits (based on commit 97c693a6af3b7896ddfa) for linux releases (updated on homepage) :
- Fix name_debug & name_debug1 RPC methods (show right in the help + description)
- Verify transfer address on name_update (avoid people losing domains on name_update...)
