Domains in other languages?

Hello,

They domains which could be implemented in other languages?

Only in Mandarin, there are 845 million speakers.

Perhaps at some length in firefox to become properly
Symbols?

regards

This is a good question. I think nobody took care about this issues until now.
But if you start development in this direction probably you will be our best specialist on this field.
:) :) :)
Chinese, Japanese, Korean language support and translations are welcome.
The Wikipedia has only English, German and Russian language articles about Namecoin.
Adding descriptions in other languages would be a good starting point. Then will come native speakers from this areas and we can look for client translations and other language supports.

@virtual_master, I read the OP as asking for IDN / Unicode support in .bit. Which is already in the spec, but I'm not sure if anyone has implemented it yet. Or maybe I read it wrong. @aristoteles, can you clarify?

The Internationalized Domain Name system already works for .bit domains.
"xn--" is our magic word.

(For the definition of IDN, IDNA, ACE, and Punycode, these abbreviations are often confused but usually refer to names starting with "xn--", see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internatio ... omain_name )

First of all, check if your browser accepts IDNs:
Try http://xn--6stq12a27e.com/
and you should see the pages of localbitcoins.com.
Then try http://比特币.com/
and you should see the same page.

By the way, xn--6stq12a27e and 比特币 (Chinese for Bitcoin) are equivalent as you can check at
http://www.charset.org/punycode.php
or
http://josefsson.org/idn.php/

Next, enable your browser to resolve .bit domains, e.g. applying the method described in
http://dot-bit.org/SystemWideDnsSettings
but do not use Khal's 178.32.31.41 DNS, as it doesn't handle IDNs very well.
Use 95.211.195.245 (bitmaster's DNS) instead.

Now try the .bit versions:
http://xn--6stq12a27e.bit/
and
http://比特币.bit/
Both should get you to the homepage of the Bitcoin Magazine.

The big question now is: What is the difference between khal's and bitmaster's DNS?
Why does bitmaster's DNS handle internationalized names perfectly, while khal's DNS doesn't?
