[announce] Register .bit domains with bitcoins (+ hosting)

.bit is a decentralized and anonymous top level domain name [read more].

Here is the first website to register .bit domains, directly with bitcoins, without configuration :
http://register.dot-bit.org/

It allows you to :
- register a .bit domain (or not, you can only take the hosting or the redirect)
- redirect it to an url :
=> yourdomain.bit will be redirected to youdomain.otherTLD
- use a web hosting :
=> you will browse directly on yourdomain.bit

Prices :
- new domain : 1 BTC, renewal included for 1 year
- redirect : included with a new domain (1BTC otherwise)
- web hosting : from 1 to 5BTC/month

It's still in beta, but functional, so, report me any problem.

Firstly I want to say congratulations on the launch of your new service. I do have some suggestions though.

The one thing I couldn't find is the option for people that have already registered their domain using namecoin but would like to find hosting for it.

The other thing is that you may be competing with Kalyhost as they also accept BTC but I was thinking you could consider taking advantage of the divisibility of bitcoin and offer
a only pay for what you use service similar to nearlyfreespeech. That is nearlyfreespeech charges can start at mere pennies for webpages with static content and little storage or traffic but
start to creep up with the use of dynamic pages, mysql databases, more transfers and storage. In doing this they only charge you for what you use.

I have been using nearly free speech for many years and like the way they charge. I still need to keep my account topped up regularly and trim it down if an old project is costing me money.

I think nearlyfreespeech like billing and bitcoin would be a match made in heaven.

Simply enter your domain name, it'll be detected as not free and you won't pay for it.

Why not, but as said in PM, you need all tools to monitor each things, which they have certainly done themself.
I was planning to add a "custom pack" to chose according to your needs, at the register time. But having no limit and paying for what you use is an interesting concept, i'll look through it a bit.
