Re: How do I run the namecoin I built from git?

The file(s) will be in the source directory (namecoin-qt in the root directory and namecoind in src). In src, there's namecoin.cpp & namecoin.h, but no namecoind. In root, there's a namecoin-qt.pro. It appeared to build correctly, no errors were visible at the end of the output before it dropped to...

Re: Free Transactions

I don't see why minimum fees should be enforced. Just let the market decide.

Re: Namecoin-Qt not working on Linux

I followed the official tutorial to setup namecoin on my Ubuntu 14.04 box but namecoin command exits immediately after begin running. I can see splash screen and it it disappears immediately. ... namecoind is running at the background; I checked it with ps. You cannot run the daemon and the gui wal...

Re: The Great Aggregating

* According to petertodd the mempool size isn't bounded even on bitcoin. It is probably the case that doing something similar - sending a tremendous volume of standard transactions that have a large enough fee to be relayed but not big enough to be mined quickly - would screw up other coins, especi...

Re: Fedora 20 package issues

I've rebuilt the Fedora packages without UPNP support. It will be re-enabled for Fedora-21.

(I think the OBS build environments are only ever updated on point releases, if at all. Regular updates are usually not included.)

This is intentional: any failure to build a consensus is a security risk for users of blockchain applications, and if a routine ...

Re: Fedora 20 package issues

So anyway, looks like the gui package needs a rebuild against newer libminiupnpc. Unfortunately I'm limited to the build environment that OBS provides, which apparently lacks Fedora updates. The only alternative would be to remove UPNP support from the Fedora build (and re-add it when the Fedora-21...

Re: Fedora 20 package issues

Hi, thanks for your feedback! The Fedora 20 repo is broken. Attempting to use it results in a missing dependency, the package wants a shared library newer than what fedora 20 has. Error: Package: namecoin-gui-0.3.75-4.1.x86_64 (home_p_conrad_coins) Requires: libboost_system-mt.so.1.50.0()(64bit) Err...
