Re: Update for BIP65 softfork
but do you think that the version=3 miners still support those tx while an upgrade would reject them? I've done quite a number of tests using an old 0.3.51 client recently. Precisely half of the transactions were included in the next block, whereas the other half had to wait for a block mined by a ...

Re: Namecoin Core softfork heights
EDIT 2: Also that is not a good idea. I think we should get BIP65 fully activated on the network as soon as possible ACK, with the exception that I'd like to replace "as soon as" with "as soon as we've informed the users of 0.3.80 and older clients, including NMC exchanges admins". For details see ...

Re: Update for BIP65 softfork
Before I post these warnings in the bitcointalk thread I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Comments welcome: This also affects users of the Namecoin-Qt 0.3.80 client and older. As soon as we hit the 95% threshold a substantial number of transactions issued by a 0.3.80 client or older will ...

Re: BTCC added merged-mining hashpower. Names expiring fast.
As expected the Difficulty change had brought us back to the 144 blocks per day average. Just a few days later the Namecoin hashpower experienced another boost, and we are getting around 180 blocks a day. Name owners, keep an eye on the expiration dates of your names! This time it is a fairly new Bi...

Re: Scripts or library to crawl the namechain
Try https://namecoin.webbtc.com/
Use the Search field, or form the query URL yourself, e.g.
https://namecoin.webbtc.com/name/d/mydomain
displays the current value and the history of mydomain.bit (which is d/mydomain on the blockchain).

Re: 0 confirmation- what do i do?
How do you know it is still 0 confirmations? Have you looked up the transaction id using an NMC explorer (e.g. https://namecoin.webbtc.com/ ), or is it btc-e or poloniex displaying your tx as unconfirmed? It is very unlikely that the money is lost. Both btc-e and poloniex have been around for severa...

BTCC added merged-mining hashpower. Names expiring fast.
A few days ago BTCC pool started experimenting with merged mining. After successfully mining a couple of blocks they have ramped up the NMC mining share to the current 25 percent. This is additional hashpower, i.e. we are getting over 200 blocks a day instead of the standard rate of 144 blocks per d...

Re: Scratchpad / WIP Thread: Namecoin's Hashrate / Diversity
BTCC pool have climbed on the merged-mining bandwagon and currently mine some 25 % of all the blocks (consistently version 4 blocks).
I'm going to open a new thread on this subject as it may cause a few issues in the near future that have nothing to do with the diversity discussion in here.

I am hesitant to endorse this step backwards.biolizard89 wrote:@cassini Should we ask F2Pool to resume mining deprecated transactions until the AAA hardfork activates
What about a patch solution for 0.3.80 clients?

Re: 0 confirmation- what do i do?
How do I proceed to send it somewhere else now? Simply try again. However, there is still a small risk that your transaction gets stuck again. If you want to reduce this risk, do the following: Use a Namecoin explorer and check if one or more blocks out of the latest 30 blocks are unusually large, ...
