Re: Official Facebook Page

I liked it. But I suspect you'll have little time to keep the page updated. And it's a shame to throw the baby (frequent promotional activity) out with the bathwater (misinformation). If this were a company, the overly zealous marketing department making claims that have the engineers cringing would...

Re: Will the libcoin port support multisig addresses

Multisig would allow a "registrar" to hold 1 of n keys, where n will typically be 3. User presents the 1 key on their machine/device and the registrar signs the transaction with their key and viola (assuming 2-of-3) - they can update, renew, transfer. This is why I think it's very important - so we...

Re: Why Namecoin is important

Yep, just saying if the domain is worth a significant amount... your sole claim to ownership is at risk. Registrars are not always the safe, solid, secure operations many people think they are. Sometimes they act downright shady too. So if something happened, and you could no longer access the domai...

Re: Bitshares DNS vs Namecoin

I have been looking a litte into Namecoin for a while and I kinda like the idea of it, but I don't understand the registration fee part etc. Then I head about Bitshares DNS. What is the difference between these two types other than PoW/PoS and the things mentioned in this video I don't really care ...

Re: Further Bitmessage Integration

There are private signing keys in the .dat file, but no support in the GUI for signing.

What are you thinking of, something like this?
id/
{
"bitmessage": {
"address": "BM-blahblahblah",
"signed": "k1K7geEokrok4sblahblahblah"
}, ....
}

Re: Prevent OneName spoofing a id/ identity

being used/owned by OneName or do they own that namespace so that only they can use it? Nobody "owns" anything in Namecoin world. Only if someone is in posession of a private key for a particular item then you may call it "ownership" of that item. In other words: yes, you can register any u/<name> ...

Re: Why Namecoin is important

private registration takes care of that issue, free on 1&1 No disrespect intended but this is not a good solution. You're replacing your identifiers with those of the registrar (or a proxy thereof) so technically they have a stronger claim of ownership than you. I'm not aware of this being challeng...
