Bootstrap.dat
I will be hosting a copy of the blockchain for the foreseeable future, periodically updating this link to a torrent of the most recent version: http://burnbit.com/torrent/266067/blk0001_dat_zip I have not tested it yet, but I will get around to it soon. Namecoind does not support the bootstrap.dat p...

Re: Forum blocking IP addresses
Would we be able to export all our data and switch providers at will? Yes . That link covers importing to Vanilla, I meant can we export from Vanilla if we change our mind later? It contains info on exporting as well. Vanilla is the forum equivalent of Wordpress, they won't lock our shit up :)

Re: Forum blocking IP addresses
If I can get the Vanilla forums to give us a free pro/cloud account, will the relevant power that be move us to that infrastructure? They actually do research on community building and the UX, moderation, and spam filters are much better than what we have here. There is also a special Q/A format wh...

Automated Build
I would really like to see a better build system for the various Namecoin projects (things are rarely compileed for linux, win32, and OS X at the same time, I've had even the 32-bit Linux binaries fail on me, etc). I'm willing to provide OS X, Linux, and Windows build machines/slaves if someone is w...

Re: Google Summer of Code
That's a great idea - I participated in GSoC myself a couple of years (before I got a paid PhD position) and liked it. Namecoin could make really interesting projects for the kind of people participating. Does anyone know whether Bitcoin participated / applied already? Honestly I have the feeling t...

Re: Can we ever expect to access .bit domains with Firefox,
... Iceweasel is concerned, it is basically just a re-branding of Firefox because Debian doesn't want to include the trade-marked Mozilla branding. We could instead try GNU IceCat if we can convince GNU / the FSF that Namecoin is "more free" than the centralised systems. I noticed that they have CA...

Google Summer of Code
It's not quite a bounty per-se, but we should apply to the GSOC program. We are small enough and have a project interesting enough that we might actually snag a few interns.
GSOC 2014 applications are due the first half of February.

Re: Can we ever expect to access .bit domains with Firefox,
What about a lightweight firefox plugin that accesses remote nmcontrol servers and is capable of TLS (auth+encryption)? Also redirecting to old school domains should be possible. This is an excellent goal, we definitely need to have plug-ins ready for all of the major browser vendors. I think integ...
