Re: [AUCTION] videos.bit

Thanks Ben. I've sent nmc payment to your account. I've never done a transfer before. How does this work? Do I just post my nmc wallet address? Thanks, I have received the payment. Yes, you should be able to create a new address in the client or use an existing one you own. It's the same as one you...

I will do. :)

PM has been sent to Jay, just waiting for him to check it. I've asked him to post the address he wants me to move it to in this thread so it's easy for anyone to verify it was moved to the correct address.

Less than 24 hours to go unless there's another bid! Jay is the current high bidder at 11 NMC. :)

Re: Are Namecoins obsolete with upcoming 0.9 release of Bitc

I don't think this will effect Namecoin in the slightest. They both serve very different purposes, Bitcoin is a currency and Namecoin maps names to values. 80 bytes is not enough to do much with and will probably be immediately pruned. I'm not seeing the overlap here.

Re: Poll On New Value Field Size

I discussed a bit with ryan-c about the encryption, here is a brief resume : - if we don't encrypt names, values can be decrypted by anybody (the name will be the key), the name_show command will do that (nothing has really changed ?) - if we encrypt names, it means you must know the name, hash it ...

Re: Much could be 1 nmc in the future?

Does Namecoin's use limit the potential value of NMC as a currency? For example if NMC was to ever reach BTC-level value, let's say $1000, then to register a name it now costs $10. Some people may consider this too dear for certain Namecoin applications.

Re: Proposal for a new Voting System

It's an interesting idea but I don't like it because it means whoever is richest can buyout an option and have it done their way, even if their way is not the best way. It would be like having a general election where your vote's weight is proportional to your salary.
