BTC / NMC ratio supply
The thought occurred to me today that the total namecoin supply will likely ALWAYS (or for a long while) be much much less than that of the total bitcoin supply. Here is my reasoning: 1. Once merged mining takes hold you will see the difficulties of NMC and BTC reach parity sooner rather than later ...

Re: [ALPHA.masterpool.eu] Merged Mining Test Server - TESTNE
How do we verify if NMC blocks "would have" been generated if there is no proof of work? At the moment I'm digging through the log files of the NMC client. Looks like: BitcoinMiner: AUX proof-of-work found our hash: 475d2b123b999b2051e3586254bfd9bd4726fb64cf9794eb4087eb1f022c9e36 parent hash: 00000...

Re: [ALPHA.masterpool.eu] Merged Mining Test Server - TESTNE
Okay I am pointing about 330 MH/s to the merged mining test server.
Shares seem to be generating ok.
MH/s on my miner on my end seems to fluctuate quite a bit. I am using poclbm miner.
I'll provide updates as they come available on my testing.

Re: [ALPHA.masterpool.eu] Merged Mining Test Server - TESTNE
No NMC blocks. NMC blocks are found, but the merged-mine RC3 rejects to add the proof of work before block 24k. Thus no immature block is created. But you would have found several if we were above block 24k. How do we verify if NMC blocks "would have" been generated if there is no proof of work?

nodemaster you were right when you said many things don't work. I tried to sign up and it told me to check my email. I have still not gotten any email concerning my account.
Has the signup process been tested at the very least?
Otherwise, testing will be impossible.

Re: Merged mining block number
I did not change the "emergency broadcast" key, and only Gavin has the key. That was an oversight. I will change it for the next release. I think most people would check the forums once they notice that mining has slowed down by a factor of 3. This is assuming 66% of mining power is on the new vers...

Re: Merged mining block number
My vote is for merged mining to take place before the block 24,000 changes. Also I believe the sooner the better given it has been tested.

Re: Merged mining block number
Anybody in favor of moving up the starting block number to 19500 if no bugs are found in the current version over the next week? At the current block rate, this would be about four weeks. My concern with this is it not being enough time to get people to update the client. Ideally we'd have it set t...

Re: Merged mining block number
I have a new version up which allows more than one auxiliary chain to be mined. This version also includes a fix for aux proof-of-work validation. Has this been merged into master already? Is it checking for block 24,000? People have been complaining about git master rejecting blocks. This was merg...
