It is *mandatory* to use the name_firstupdate block instead of the name_new. This is because the time from name_new to when the name expires depends solely on when the name_firstupdate happens. I like this logo, which is almost the same as the one phelix posted, but with slightly different colors. I'd be fine with changing the "namecoin" to be actually black instead of dark grey.
