Re: Web Of Trust and Sybil Attack

In the simplest case the votes would be part of the value of an ID so they would be inherently linked to the voter. That's going to limit the number of votes any one identity can have. I think we need another namespace for votes & a way to securely link those votes to identities stored in id/. If w...

Re: Namecoin and Anonymity

It has basically "the same" level of anonymity/pseudonymity that Bitcoin has - if done correctly and with a lot of diligence, it can be used quite anonymously. But this involves things like mining coins yourself, buying them with anonymous exchange accounts for mixed bitcoins or at least having a c...

Re: Namecoin and Anonymity

It's not anonymous at all, it has the same problems as Bitcoin, but worse due to a smaller network. All transactions are recorded in a public database. You don't need to be a state to unmask users, just a hobbyist with a few hours to spare could unmask most users, or at least track it back to where ...

Re: Web Of Trust and Sybil Attack

Sorry, I think it sounds dumb. You'll have to explain what you mean by 'magic'? The paper is good, but I don't see anything about any magic mentioned. It relies on having identities, so that WoT votes can be tied together & analysed, anonymous WoT votes are pretty worthless. By "magic" I mean certa...

Re: Official Facebook Page

It needs some posts on it, rather than just the ukash spam. If you're going to allow posts from others then somebody needs to block the spammers, Facebook don't do anything about it.

Re: Identity namespace

If you can simplify it to just attribute=value, by removing some of the less necessary types & combining them with attributes then it'll make the json much simpler. Need short simple attribute names too. Space is limited & we don't want to add too much overhead. A fairly long list of different attri...
