Re: Name squatting

I think if you have squatted other peoples names, then you should approach that person and give the name to the person, and use the situation to advertize namecoin/bitdomains. If you are trying to sell the name to the person with the same name, I would call this ABUSE, pure and simple. on the other ...

Re: U.S. aims to give up control over ICANN

This is hilarious, I can't believe my eyes... ICANN mentioning Namecoin three times in their paper: https://www.icann.org/en/about/planning/strategic-engagement/identifier-technology/report-21feb14-en.pdf More recently, an emphasis on distribution of control [New yorker 2014] and privacy has surface...

Re: Established namespaces vs. new namespaces - analyzing

hm, suppose I create a scifi multiplayergame (not realtime) where information about users/gameassets are stored in the namecoin blockchain... say in the namespace mmpg/ Then I would go on and enter data in the form mmpg/user123654 where I would enter a JSON string that I will associate with this use...

Re: OneName

I love it. It will help namecoins adoption in general. Let people use namecoin as they see fit. As long as they follow the rules. And "announcing anything" or "declaring your intentions" even "saying hello here in the forum" is not part of the rules and therefor not necessary. It's ANARCHY people......

Re: Reggie Middleton on namecoin

Interesting. He doesn't mention meowbit or freespeechme though... and that makes namecoin not very useful for the people. First thing should always be to give people the easy possibility to actually VISIT dot bit websites, and not just talk about something obscure like Namecoin (most people don't ev...

Re: Periods in namecoin domain names

a period in a domain name is a subdomain.

From right to left, the first period marks the top-level-domain... followed by the domain name, and then the subdomain name... etc...

Re: FreeSpeechMe Tech Help

Can't we have a separate sub-forum for freespeechme, and not only a single thread? I have a lot of bugs and screenshots I want to talk about... this will mess up the communication if we have to post everything here in one thread. I'd rather open a new thread for every problem. Is that possible? Or a...

Re: namecoind name_new d/alreadyregister will charge me ?

Namecoin needs some big investors to donate big to the namecoin development fund. Would speed things up a lot - probably :D Devcoin has 90%? (can't remember) of generated coins to give away.... i think Yup, 90%. I think they have a future, as has namecoin. If you are a namecoin developer you can ap...

Re: namecoind name_new d/alreadyregister will charge me ?

if you use namecoin-qt, it won't let you (unless done from console window) I think this is sort of a known problem.. probably will be fixed with some check eventually... in fact i think i remember khal mentioning this a long time ago So if I understand this correctly, what we would need is an updat...
