Re: Estimated market value of some Namecoin and Bitcoin site

Bitcoin domain names begin to explode. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-07-11/bitcoin-domain-name-prices-defy-drop-in-virtual-currency-s-value.html Another potential high-price domain name, Bitcoins.com, is set to be auctioned off by Heritage Auctions, with an opening bid set at $185,000. Heritage...

Re: Refactoring NMControl's RPC API

Another, Django based RetroShare Web interface: (it seems to be the official one) https://github.com/drbob/djrs --------------- And it seems that there is a Gnunet web interface also: https://gitorious.org/gnunet-webui/ or at least it is in work, i am not sure. ------------ So it seems that the answ...

Re: Refactoring NMControl's RPC API

My understanding is that OnionCat and GarliCat have a long initial latency due to circuit construction (or whatever the I2P equivalent is), but after that the ping is usable. Supposedly people have done voice chat without problems. :) Than it's OK. I'm not very familiar with RetroShare and GnuNet y...

Re: URI Schemes

I would lean toward a single URI scheme for names, "nmc:", with a syntax for payments (both Bitcoin and Namecoin) as well as a syntax for other operations. Examples: nmc:id/jeremy --> show data for the name id/jeremy nmc:id/jeremy/bitcoin --> send BTC to id/jeremy nmc:id/jeremy/namecoin --> send NM...

Re: id/ format

I still remember in 2000 I was working by a company and somebody created on the file server a directory with some non alpha-numeric characters(space was also there) in Windows 2000. Every windows computer which accessed that directory has crashed. From 6 system administrators not a single one was ab...

Re: Opensimulator + Firestormviewer + Namecoin = Internet 2.

Secondlife is a great system to browse information in 3D - some people are saying this would be the new Internet one day. The problem is: it is centralized. Luckily they are good and working Open Source efforts for the server software called "OpenSimulator" ( http://opensimulator.org ) and the View...

Re: Resolving .bit domains to dynamic IPs

This decision of the court seems to be very unusual and I am asking if it could have further juristic consequences for the domain control and internet freedom. That governmental agencies seize a domain was at least known even if not accepted by all in every situation. Private entities could take ove...
