Re: Built-in name market
I think this is a great idea and would be wonderful to see built into the software. I don't think it's of any use to protect the offer price or counter offer price. In fact, I think these should be public to encourage a more competitive process. Just like on eBay, you can't see the bidder but you ca...

Re: bind9 configuration for sharing a zone with ICANN TLD
I now get "Value: (invalid)" when I do a whois -h whois.namecoin.us watchpocket.bit : Domain: watchpocket.bit TxID: 37a9c4117346d19c14a61c5f3d585d4810a1252dd2868206b6f4fcd1052777ab Expires: Sun, 11 Sep 2011 17:50:57 -0400 Value: (invalid) The Registry database contains ONLY .BIT domains and Registr...

Re: namecoin whois server
I see no reason we can't hash this out in chat and put together a RFC of sorts. There's a lot of progress already done on other projects to include various bits of information in DNS, so my feeling is that we should stick close to the records that exist (like using SRV records for GPG fingerprints)....

Re: namecoin whois server
I think we can use a specific field to define the whois data. There was some discussion about this on the IRC, around an "info" JSON object. Looks like it's being used even now, just look for the "info" fields in your name_scan. ;) The specification remains to be filled: http://dot-bit.org/Domain_n...

Re: namecoin whois server
Glad to hear it worked! So what are possible outputs for the "value" field? A name that has given just 'WHATEVER' in the <value> field should just return Value: (invalid) right? Correct-ish. If you get an (invalid) result that means that the data was in no-way useable by the system. At least in a wa...

namecoin whois server
I just finished up a rough whois server for Namecoin that needs some testing. It's at whois.namecoin.us and is available with any standard whois client. $ whois -h whois.namecoin.us example.bit Namecoin.us Whois Server v0.02 NOTICE: Access to .BIT WHOIS information is provided to assist persons in d...

Re: [Announce] NamecoinUs Project
Update: Inline proxying is enabled again but is restricted to *.bit domains. I had a Google bot have a hay day earlier, so doing this to keep things small until everything is more stable. This means includes to javascript/css that are on non .bit domains will not be loaded.
