Re: A lot of coins are lost, it should be changed

khal, please, turn off coins destruction, return them to miners. Miners are processed the blocks, they need a reward for that. Number of squaters is unlimited, but number of MNC is limited. This is the mathematical collapsing function. If miners get the fee it means miners can register names for fr...

Re: Dealing with the block chain dust spam attack

(I thought the bitcoin code, that namecoin code is based on, already dealt with bitdust transactions spam issue ... must have got changed with the naming fees.) It has pretty much the same as the current namecoin checks. The main advantage with bitcoin is they're worth a reasonable amount of money ...

Dealing with the block chain dust spam attack

I've create some patches to try to deal with the current ongoing spam dust transaction attack. They are in my github fork . I've done pull requests for the namecoin/namecoin repository. Pull request 7 applies the fixes that coblee did for litecoin to stop the dust coins in a wallet from being used d...

Re: Spam in namecoin blocks

So it seems all the recent blocks have transaction spam now (with the exception of a block now and then). All the blocks are about 400Kb in size. The block chain is growing AT ABOUT 60 MB per day as a result. Anyone able to get in touch with vinced?

Re: renewing domains?

I need to renew a domain, and I cannot figure out how to do it. The best I can find is that I need to do a name_update of some kind, but I dont know what since I do not want to change anything with the domain. It seems like there should be a 'namecoind renew d/<domain>' command in the client, or at...

Spam in namecoin blocks

The following blocks have a lot of 1e-08 transactions, with the block sizes being 32Kb. Any thoughts on what someone is trying to do or how it can be minimized?

Re: 'getbalance' does not match sum of 'listaccounts'

How is it that you have a negative balance in the "" account? Is this a transitory thing? (i.e. are there some fees that need to confirm or something) Negative account balances happen when you do a "sendfrom" for the full amount in the account but a fee is charged. The full amount is transferred fr...

Re: 3 ideas to make namecoin much more accessible

3) A third party program that generates a list of .bit domains that can be imported into a hosts file. I can see people posting this to pastebin etc This is probably it . I use this in combination with dnsmasq to resolve .bit domains. I use a version of namecoin that sends notifications when new bl...
