Got it figured out. The port on the how to install namecoind.exe page looked like 8335 on my monitor, when it's actually 8336. Correcting the port fixed the problem.

No Namecoins showing up in my wallet [solved]
Hello, I've been doing namecoin mining for a while, but I just set it up, plugged my address into Slush's pool and forgot about. I've been getting automated notifications from the pool that I've been getting about 10NMC every day, but when I fire up namecoind.exe, it shows 0.000000000 NMC in my wall...

Namecoin "backed" by Domains?
Hey, I was just wondering if it would be appropriate to say that namecoin is backed by domains or domain name registration in an analogous way to the way IRL currency used to be backed by gold?
