Re: Forum Logo / Official Namecoin Logo

Keep the current logo. Phelix, since you have access to modify the forum would you mind fixing the link in front of the breadcrumb trail that links to the dot-bit wiki? It links to forum.namecoin.info. Please rename it to Namecoin wiki or just wiki perhaps, and update the link to the current wiki? A...

Re: Extending the Namecoin Wallet App to include Naming feat

The desktop client generates a Name Index database from parsing the blockchain, block by block, which it first queries to see if a name already exists. Can this functionality be left out? That file is 97 MB currently. Yes, if this is the hurdle to overcome, leave it out. Promt the user to inform th...

Re: Namecoin Wallet for Android

I sent some nmc to the wallet, it was very slow to sync and left me feeling for several hours like my coins may indeed be gone. I also swept a private key in to test further, and it showed this balance immediately before the sync was even complete. I would suggest prominently showing that the wallet...

Re: Namecoin Wallet for Android

Thank you for building this. I installed it on my phone this evening, I'll report back once it syncs up. It has a decent interface, although I found it difficult to find my wallet address. One must tap on the QR code, and then the address is displayed. Not hard to find, but would be nice if it were ...

Namecoin.org

Why are you guys still using namecoin.info? And still not using a TLS certificate? I gave domob the account to generate a new cert for namecoin.org. It's valid for 5 years after all. I'm a bit offended, it seems the only underlying goal was to centralize/maintain control over something that should b...

Re: DIY .bit resolution

If you're using apache, I use mod_proxy and mod_rewrite to serve up requests for bit.pe. You won't be able to have a user click on a .bit link and have it work for them unless you install a web based proxy service on your main.com domain, and have it default to showing your .bit page.

Re: OpenNIC not resolving properly & .pe showing old version

Part of the problem is your vhost config, you should have NoIndex declared to prevent people browsing the directory if the webserver can't find an index to serve. You can also set up a blank catch-all page, name the file 000default or whatever and serve up a blank file when the webserver can't find ...
