Bitparking namecoin exchange blocking IPs?
Hi, I was running a price ticker on and off that updated every 10-20 seconds. Now it seems that my IP is blocked (my friend on the same ISP can access it, I can't). I am sorry if this was causing problems for you, if you had a JSON API I would use that. If you guys are reading this forum please resp...

Re: Mh/s rapidly falls down
Windows is fine. My experience is that phoenix with the phatk kernel generally gives you the best and most stable performance. I base this on long-term tests and looking at the estimated hashrate on the pool. I don't know about the falling hashrate. I have a similar problem with my 6970 though, as s...

Re: Difficulty has increased to 55882!
How would a crossminer work? Wouldn't the blocks for each chain be different due to including some info from previous blocks?

Re: Difficulty has increased to 55882!
It's likely though that after two BTC difficulty increases the hashrate will return to namecoin (or after one if the price increases). This will definitely happen before middle of July. Eventually it should settle down around the point where NMC and BTC are equally profitable.

Re: Poolmining / Payout
If you're on windows, you need to start namecoind.exe in one command window, and then in a second window you run "namecoind.exe getinfo". This will show many stats, including your balance.

Re: Generation of namecoins vs. demand for namecoins
For example: Charge a fixed cost to register a domain Make the amount of namecoins generated per block proportional to the block's difficulty (which is indirectly given by the total hashing power in the network) Yes, the amount of generated coins is more or less static (halved every 200k blocks IIR...

Re: how to backup properly
I have a question about this. These new generated keys, are required to keep your balance? So it's not enough to keep your addresses? I thought that would be the case, since all the transactions to/from an address is stored in the blockchain? Or aren't they?

Re: A lot of coins are lost, it should be changed
This has been discussed a lot in bitcoin too. Forcing users to "update" their coins makes no sense. And same problem appears with the current algo. I have been thinking a bit about this myself. I realize the problem with this. I was thinking maybe something more gradual and very long term than "los...
